This includes the models for Pokémon, which don't spawn in the overworld unless players are in Pokémon Hideaways hidden in the Grand Underground. However, instead of using the full-body character models seen in Pokémon Sword and Shield, BDSP has opted for a return to top-down gameplay and stubby, chibi character designs.
Originally released for the Nintendo DS in 2006, gameplay and graphics have changed dramatically in the remakes.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are the newest installments in the Pokémon series and have reimagined the Sinnoh region of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Because Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl doesn't accurately depict the size of the Pokémon compared to the trainer they are behind, this has created some particularly funny moments with bigger species. Pokémon following behind players isn't a new feature in the Pokémon series, but because each Pokémon has a different size, gait and body type, perfecting walk cycles throughout the past generations has resulted in some hilariously awkward followers.
Those playing Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are poking fun at Legendary Pokémon Regigigas' waddling walk cycle as it follows players on routes.
